PlayStation Vita Developer Kit price at $3000

Sony has been very active with PlayStation Vita game developers and have even gifted PS Vita Dev Kit to Indie developers. Now the Ps Vita Dev Kit cost has been announced as 3000USD by Sony which is very less.Studios looking to make games on PSP successor will only have to pay €1,900 or $3000.

Here is what they have to say – “There is no cost to join the PS Vita Develop Program,” Bain added. “There’s just that cost of the dev kit. If you’re a small developer, we happy to talk to you about this. It will help if you have a games portfolio. There’s no reason we won’t speak with smaller studios about joining up.”They have also confirmed that prototype dev kits can be free, and revealed that the SCEA PubFund, which offers studios budget for the creation of exclusive titles, is currently seeing up to 15 pitches a week.
The PS Vita Dev kit will, unlike the consumer version, feature HDMI out.

They concluded by confirming that while the Vita will eventually see non-gaming apps created with Sony partners, for now the company is only accepting game proposals. The system will also, like the PS3, boast support for freemium gaming models.

Sony gifts 4 PlayStation Vita Devkits to Developer

We have earlier reported that the PS Vita Devkits will be available at a cheaper cost in market.Sony has gone a bit further and have gifted 4 PS Vita Developer Kits for Rubicon who are the developers of Great Little War Game.Sony was very impressed with the PS Vita version of the game that they gifted the Indies developers with 4 devkits.

Here is what they have to say – “Best of all, Sony are seriously pushing indies forward, so it’s AppStore should start filling up in the same way the iOS one has.We showed them our game, they liked it loads and thought it a good fit for their machine, so they sent us four kits. Gratis. Just like that.I know, never happened to me before either, but this has got to be good news for both devs and gamers. Unlike Nintendo, Sony now ‘get it’ “.

Looks like Sony is very serious about PlayStation Vita and the developers involved with it and they are not taking any chances to blow this console.Great work Sony!!

PlayStation Vita RAM slashed from 512 mb to 256 mb

This is just a rumor and there are no official conformations as of now.As many of the websites are sharing this information we have decided to update our viewers too with this information. We have initially posted PlayStation Vita specs with 512 mb RAM,but there are reports that the RAM has been decreased from 512 to 256 mb.

According to Novarama CEO Dani Sánchez-Crespo, the PSP successor has slimmed down to 256MB of RAM. When asked whether the move would hurt Novarama’s current Vita development, he said, “that won’t affect us.”Though it looks 256 mb RAM is very less in reality it is not!! PSP has only 32 mb of RAM while PS Vita has 256 mb RAM (as rumored) which is 8 times powerful than PSP and hence the graphics & performance will be way better than PSP.

Still there are no official confirmations from Sony regarding the decrease of RAM.We will keep you posted on the updated info soon!! Stay tuned!!
